A fourth-generation bricklayer, Shawn is trained in blueprint reading, job site supervision, and brick, block and stone installation, and is OSHA-certified.

Chris holds numerous certifications in his field, including OSHA 500, Scaffold Safety, Mast Climber and IMI Green Craft, and is an IMI-certified instructor.

is the Computer Technology instructor at Great Onyx Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center, bringing experience in health care IT to the classroom. She enjoys sharing her wealth of knowledge in the field with students and preparing them for successful careers.

is Great Onyx Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center’s Urban Forestry instructor. He is a second-generation arborist with over a decade of experience in the field. Beginning his career trimming and removing trees from powerlines, Steven eventually advanced to journeyman class A foreman, certifying him to train new arborists. He enjoys the opportunity to make a difference in his field and in the lives of students through his role as instructor.

is the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Carpentry instructor at Great Onyx Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center. He brings almost three decades of experience in the field to his classroom, helping students learn and find their career paths. Charles is happily married with five children.

Aaron fell in love with welding at a young age while working in his uncle’s fabrication shop and has held many positions in the construction field. Since joining the Great Onyx team in 2016, Aaron has helped students find their passions and pursue success. 

served in the United States Army as a culinary specialist. He enjoys training students in the food industry and helping them find success. 

is the Painting instructor at Cass Civilian Conservation Job Corps Center. He has been a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades apprenticeship program for over 20 years and a commercial painter for over 40 years. He started teaching early in his career and has enjoyed introducing young people to the industry.

has an educational background in organizational leadership and front-line leadership, as well as industrial millwrighting. He served over 22 years in the military and over 10 years’ service as a federal technician.

is the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Pre-Apprentice Carpentry instructor at Cass Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center. He has been a member of UBC for over 20 years.
