Success Stories
The following are only a few of the many success stories of Gary Job Corps. These graduates' stories are proof that Job Corps can start you on the path to success.
Richard Schantling
Richard Schantling graduated on September 12, 2008, from Corrections/Security. He was hired at the Texas Department of Corrections earning $13.02 per hour as a Corrections Officer II. He now shares a house with a co-worker after relocating to Amarillo, Texas, where his employer is located.
Ricardo Bravo
Ricardo Bravo graduated from Gary Job Corps with a certification from the Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aid program and obtained a GED certificate in August 2008. Ricardo is now living in San Antonio, Texas, and working at HomeWell Senior Care as a caregiver. He is also continuing his education at St. Phillips College in hopes of becoming a radiologist.
Heather Church
Heather Church has been attending Blinn College majoring in computer science since her graduation from Gary Job Corps Center. She is currently working at Texas A&M University. She plans to transfer to Texas State University in San Marcos next year. Her training at Gary Job Corps Center prepared her for college life and living.
Aime Hdabarishei
Aime came to America with his mother from Africa. He did not speak English when he came to the United States. He found out about Job Corps and enrolled in Gary Job Corps. He graduated from Gary Job Corps with his high school diploma and Office Assistant Training certificate. He is currently enrolled in Texas State Technical College majoring in Machine Technology. Aime plans to continue his education by pursuing a degree in Engineering.
